What is word processing:?
Word processing is a concept in computing that refer to the act of creating,editing,formatting and storing document information for use.It involve the use of electronic devices some of which include the computer system.In word processing,you have facilities that can assist you in the reorganisation of your document until it suit your desire purpose having a printable paged  document because a thing of choice and not a matter of necessity as in the use of typerwriter.
What is Microsoft word?
Microsoft word is a powerful word processing program,it bis used to creat change and reorganise document the document can be store in the memory,updated and printed when require it can check and correct spelling,check for words with the same or opposite and find or replace word as and when require.It can also create table with various border shades.

Cursor movement
The cursor can be moved around document with the use of either the mouse or the directional [arrow] keys on the keyboard.However you can only move the cursor beyond any final text position with either the space bar or the enter key
Working with Microsoft word
To create a new document
Click file from the menu bar
Click new
A dialogue box will appear with black document highlighted
To save a new document[first save]
Click file on the menu bar
Click save as
Type a file name for your document
Click save
To re-save  a subsequent change in the already save document
Click file
Click save
To save in a floppy diskette
Click file on the menu bar
Click  save as
Click the arrow beside my document
Click floppy 3 ½
Type a file name
Click save
To open a saved document
Click file on the menu bar
Click open choose the file to be opened
Click open
Copy a text
A highlighted text can be duplicated using copy command
Ways to highlight text
Ø  Position the mouse pointer either at the starting or ending text position .hold down the left mouse button and drag over the teat.Release the mouse button when you are at the other end
Ø  Position the cursor either at the start or end of the text.Hold down the shift key and one of the arrow keys on the keyboard depending on the direction

To copy a text
Highlight the text
Click edit on the menu bar
Click copy
Move your cursor to where the text will be copy
Click edit again
Click paste
To cut a text
Highlight the text
Click edit on the menu
Click cut
Move your cursor to where the text we be placed
Click edit again
Click paste
Formatting your  text
When you want to change your character styles such as the font,type,size the thickness,color or position such as superscript,you can do the following
Ø  Highlight the text
Ø  Click format
Ø  Click font
The following choices and changes can then be made
Ø  To change your lettering characters you choice font and use the adjacent arrows to scroll through the screen for a suitable option
Ø  To chosose font style make your selection from the style
Ø  To change font size,choose size of make your selection
Ø  To choose color,click on the arrow and select the option
Ø  To add some special effect such as subscription or superscripts e.t.c choose effect and make selection
Ø  Click ok when your are through with your changes

To change the case of your text
Highlight the text
Click format
Click change case
Select your choose[uppercase,lowercase e.t.c
To number your  text 
To add number  or bullet list of item in a document do the following
Click format
Click bullet and numbering
Choose either  the numbering or bullet
For either  the case selet the pattern of your choice
Click ok
To check your spelling
Microsoft word program can check your spelling as you are typing or inputting your text.it has an in-built dictionary which it uses to check words as you type your  text any word not found in its dictionary is assumed to have been wrongly spelt
Ways to check your previous typed document spelling by:
Click tools
Click spelling and grammer
When an incorrectly spelt is detected,it displace a dialogue box with several option for your to choice
The option apply as follows
Ignore-choosing this option implies that the program should ignore the supposedly miss spelt word
Ignore all-any occurrence of the wordindicate that will be ignore
Change –when your make a choice of word from the suggection given,then choose option.this implies that the incorrectly spelt word should be replaced by your choice from the list

Working with tables
Rows and column that make up a table can be created easily within the Microsoft word program .To make any changes in a created table within the program,your  cursor must be within the created table structure.
Tables are made up of cell.A cells made up of one interseling box betweet  a row and column.Various operation within the table can be reffered by a cell;row or column specification
To create a table
Move your cursor to where you want the table to appear click table
Move your mouse pointer to insert and click table
Type the number of column and the number  of row that you want or use the arrow click ok
To place border in a table
Before placing border in a table be sure that your cursor position is correctly place.to nplace a border in several cells you can highlight the cells before bmaking your selection to place border in a table
Click format
Click border and shading click borders[if not selected]
Option
To place a box; this will place a border on the font sides of the table.
To place across,click grid,this will place a border  on the inner lines of your table
To place equal border on all line,click all
To change the line style and color,choose the style of the color of your choose
Click ok after making all changes

Click format
Click border and shading
Click shading [if this option is not selected yet]
Select the shade of your choice
 SPECIAL EFFECTS
You can use the drop cap command on the format menu to emphasize the first letter in a paragraph.However ,you can do this by following the instruction  on viewing your document in the following
To drop cap
Click on the format menu
Click drop cap
Click line to drop
Specify the number of line that you want the text to drop in.if you want to change the font of your text,you can
Click font
Make your desire changes
Click ok
If you are not in the page layout view the program willtell you that you need to be in this view
Click yes to the dialogue box displaced

Apart from the mouse,keyboard keyword is used to perform some operation in Microsoft word.The special keys are mostly used in combination with some typing keys to commands.

A computer  is made up of two major components know as hardware and software.Each has a unique operation to perform.Some are built to receive data,some for storage,some transmit signals,letter and graphical pictures,some are for visual display while others for sound production
The evolution of computer did not come just a day but it took a long time to develop into what we have today.Many years ago,about 17th century B.C,a simply calculating machine was used in china,japan and RUSSIA KNOW as Abacus.It consists of a row of wires or string fixed to a wooden frame with multi-color beads stung on it,which glides.Sliding the beads on the wires does addition and subtraction
Ø  Save the passage with a name
Ø  Change the heading to uppercase and aligh center
Ø  Justify the passage and give it 1.5 line spacing
Ø  Drop cap the first letter of the paraghraph
Ø  Change the font to Tahona,font size to 14 and add a suitable color
Ø  Cut the third paragraph and make it first paraghraph
Ø  Change your paper orientation to landscape
